Clear Blue Sea Internship
Embedded Systems Engineer
During the summer of 2019, Cameryn was an intern at Clear Blue Sea and worked to enhance mini FRED, a floating robot for eliminating debris. FRED is designed to eliminate plastic pollution from the oceans. FRED runs off solar power and is semi-autonomous. The group of young engineers was responsible for enhancing FRED's debris collection subsystem, data collection subsystem, and telemetry range. The team successfully added leak sensors, a temperature sensor, and a camera to transmit live video feed. They were also able to increase the telemetry range by adding a drone antenna that communicated up to 20 miles.
